Greetings faithful reader...
Yesterday, my family took my mom out to celebrate her 60th Birthday. We went to the Rainforest Cafe (her favorite) and had a great time. We gave her flowers and a little Troll doll that Brianna picked out from the Norway pavilion at Epcot. It was a good relaxing time to come together as a family.
On the other side, today is a difficult day for me emotionally. It marks the 9th anniversary of losing my Dad. Sept. 18, 1998 was the last time I saw my father and I miss him so much. I get lonely sometimes without him... I love my mom... but there is just something about a father and son bond that can't be replaced. I have healed a lot since he passed...but today is still a hard day.
Life is like that isn't it. One day you are celebrating a birth and the next mourning a death. We go through life with our hearts attached to the end of an emotional yo-yo. Celebrating and crying within hours of each other....thankfully, my Savior knows my name. He applauds my triumphs and cries when I hurt. Unconditional love.
Love you mom...miss you dad.

I hope you are able to "keep" your mom for many more years. I "lost" my father when he was 61; Allen was not yet a year old. That was a long time ago. It really hurt, and I still miss him as he unconditionally loved me too. However, when my mom died, I found out what REAL loss felt like. Wow, I don't wish that for anyone! So, love/spoil your mom while you can.
My heart is with you today, Brian. Your dad would be really, really proud of you now.
Praying for you this day, I have lost my mom and dad. Honestly I miss my mom more but we had a closer relationship. I have found though that I am more like my father than I realized when he was alive. I do my best to make memories with my kids now knowing I had wished I had more and better time with my parents! You are very talented and if you are like you dad he was one cool, smart dude, especially in trivia, hehe!
