Most of me is back...

Greetings faithful readers...

Well, I have been debating this post for awhile. I wasn't sure I wanted to get as naked as this post will reveal me to be.

I weigh 211.6 pounds.

Wow...there it is...but that's better than it was before - thus the reason for this post.

You see, I did weigh 222.6 pounds about 14 days ago. I was eating whatever I wanted...exercising very little...basically self-destructing. It was then that Mindy and I decided to dive back into Weight Watchers. Actually....she decided to do it...and I jumped in to be supportive. I didn't want her to have to sit and watch me eat BBQ Fritos while she ate some tofu (or some other gross product).

So far I have lost 11 pounds. I am running over 2 miles a day. I am eating smaller portions without feeling like I am constantly hungry. My pants fit better. And I have a goatee. Well, the goatee doesn't have anything to do with it. It just makes me looks like the evil Captain Kirk from that episode of Star Trek.

Here's the deal. I listened to Troy this weekend talk about sleeping through stuff and not getting the most out of life. Being overweight was (is?) costing me something. Potentially. I want to be able to walk my daughter down the aisle at her wedding...I want to be there for her later in life...I want to be able to play with my grandkids down the road. You can't do that if you are sleeping through life...eating whatever you want and not caring.

Jerry Seinfeld once told a joke about staying up late. He said that when he stays up late he doesn't care...it is "morning guys" problem. Late night guy loves staying up but morning guy has to pay the price. Now of course they are both him...but isn't that true? Young Brian gets to eat undisciplined because that will be "old Brian's" problem down the road....I'm tired of borrowing from the future to live hedonistically in the now. I'm done.

My goal weight is 185 pounds. That is 26.6 more pounds. I am already down 11. Total weight loss goal: 37.6 pounds.

You want naked Pastor...that's about as naked as I get.

Any post w/ Seinfeld in it is GOLD. Hey, I'm praying for you guys - discipline is all God, man. He'll honor your mission.
