Greetings faithful reader...
Well I really don't know how to explain this weekend other than WOW! Here are some things that I learned/noticed/observed/participated in...
1) I played bass for the first time in 6 months. I've got to say that it was unlike any other time that I have EVER played on the stage. Rehearsal was smooth...the musicians that I played with were well rehearsed, and the congregation was responsive. There are so many new folks that I had a pretty steady parade of "I didn't know you played bass?" Yep. Since I was 9. My two picking fingers are blistered and sore....and I wouldn't have it any other way.
WHAT I LEARNED: Sometimes you have to make time for something you love to do...
2) Beach baptism was amazing! Not sure how many people were baptized...but I saw lots of tears, hugs, laughter, and family out there on the beach. I can't tell you how grateful I am to the multiple volunteers who braved the rain to provide the food and sign-in. I am honored as one of your pastors to serve with each of you!
WHAT I LEARNED: Sometimes you have to just stand back and drink in God. He is unbelievable.
3) A LOT of people are connecting with MyNakedPastor! Over 20,000 unique visitors so far!!!
WHAT I LEARNED: Arturo's antenna hat is awesome!
4) I dropped below my next weight threshold...209.6 pounds. I broke 210!!!! Still seems weird to post my actual weight online, but as Troy talked about this weekend...we need to have accountability. Still 20 or so to go...
WHAT I LEARNED: Belts are 13.96 at Wal-Mart. I had to buy a new one this morning because my old one was too big and couldn't hold my pants up. There is nothing that tastes as good as thinner feels....
Thanks God for an incredible weekend. I will be out of town at a conference this week starting Wednesday...I'll try to blog from the conference to keep you all in the loop!
I have an exciting announcement to tell you about...I just can't yet. I really want to, though.
Mindy's not pregnant...I'm not pregnant....everything is OK.
