Red, Green, Blue, and Gray

Greetings Faithful Readers...

What did you get for Christmas? My darling wife blessed me with something I've watched at least 100 times, but never owned...Ken Burns' Civil War documentary. You might be asking...100 times? Isn't that show like 50 hours long? Not quite..but it is lengthy.

The Civil War is one of those topics I could read or watch on a loop. Plus, my college degree is in History (emphasis 1840s-Reconstruction). So, I guess you could say that it is one of my passions.

If you haven't seen it...you must. I don't think you can consider yourself an American History scholar without a firm grasp on the Civil War . Not just the battles, but the 1850 slow boil through the 1877 Reconstruction efforts. You will commonly see Civil War books in my "Now Reading" section and these are usually just re-reads for me.

Battle Cry of Freedom
is a great book to start with if you are interested in the Civil War era.

Anyway, thanks honey for the DVDs! If I disappear to the Man-Cave in our house for 50 hours...you know what I'll be watching!
