Greetings Faithful Readers..
Well this Sunday at CES (Consumer Electronics Show)...Bill Gates will give his last keynote address as chairman at Microsoft.
I know Macheads...you're saying good riddance...but don't.
I have tremendous respect for Bill Gates. He is a fellow tech-head, a thinker, a philanthropist, and a visionary. Granted, Microsoft has not been as innovative or free-thinking as Apple, but you've got to respect their ability to stay so strong in the market.
Bill is stepping down as active CEO but will still have an interest in the company. I look forward to seeing what direction Microsoft will go under new leadership...
On the other hand...Apple just broke through the 8% barrier. 8 out of every 100 computers in use is a MAC!!! Doesn't seem like much, but when I started using Macs (8 years ago), we only had a 4% influence.
I am still a true Mac aficionado...I can't wait for Steve's speech at Macworld on the 15th...but you've got to tip your hat to the "other side" of computing once in awhile.
