Greetings Faithful Readers...
Just finished watching this clip:

This is the return of Bill Buckner to Boston for the first time. He threw out the first pitch on Wednesday after the Red Sox received their 2007 World Series rings. Why is this special?
Bill was the one who let the ball slip under his legs while playing first base during the 1986 World Series. If he would have made that play, the Red Sox could have won the game and gone on to win the series. People in Boston hated him for a long, long time...they accused him of extending the Red Sox curse. He became the symbol of shame for a city looking for a scapegoat. One mistake had overshadowed an otherwise stellar career.
If you watch the video, you will see him wipe his eyes due to the emotion of the moment. You really just feel like this guy is finally able to get past that moment in his life.
Have you ever made a mistake that you just can't seem to get past? Sometimes it's others that won't let you...sometimes it's you that won't let you forget. Have you ever wished that you could go back and fix your mistake...tell the you back then not to do it?
Christ came so that you can get back onto the field. If you are a Christ-follower, don't shed tears of regret..but tears of joy that you have been forgiven for sins long since committed. Allow yourself to hear the applause of those appreciating the you of today and not the boos from the voices of your past.
Congrats Bill Buckner...Soak in that 5 minute standing ovation....
