Will I Upgrade?

Greetings Faithful Readers..

Well today I have a keynote hangover.  That euphoria that sets in right after a Stevenote has got me thinking about my iPhone.  I have been asked "are you going to upgrade" or "why should I upgrade" more times than Steve Jobs has mock black turtlenecks.  The answer is simply...maybe.  I know that might surprise some of you...so I would like to invite you into my head and explain the reasons:

PROS:
- 3G Speed (for the non-techie, this means that the Internet and Email will move very very fast)
- Built-In GPS
- It's new from Apple (usually reason enough to get it)
- All my friends will have a new one (yes, and if they all jumped off a bridge - I would follow them lemming style)
-  It's only $199.00 (I'd probably pony up the dough for the $299 model in white...but thatz just how I roll suckaz...)

CONS:
-  I don't browse the web on my phone enough to justify the 3G speed increase
-  The data plan will cost $10 more per month...factor that out...$10 more times 24 months (length of contract) = $240 additional data cost... add this to the $199 and I'm actually paying $439 bucks for the new phone...
-  My phone already uses triangulation to locate me.  Will I use the built in GPS?  Probably.  Do I NEED it?  Not really.
-  All my friends having one does bother me.  I'm not gonna lie to you.
-  The cost is cool...but I've got other things this summer to buy...15th Anniversary anyone?

I will probably upgrade in the future...but I think the people who should do it right away are:

1)  Those that don't have an iPhone (everyone should...they are amazing)
2)  Those that use the Internet a lot on their phones.  The 3G speed kicks digital butt.
3)  Those that travel a lot...the GPS feature is cool.

Overall, I was impressed with the Stevenote yesterday.  I am excited to install iPhone 2.0 software on my 2G iphone and to finally buy 3rd party applications for my phone (voice recorder?  games?  Oh Yeah!).  I was probably most pumped up about MobileMe but that's another post.

The other question I am getting is "If you camp out...will you let me know?"

Anybody up for another round of hour-by-hour line updates dawg?

BV
