Greetings faithful reader..
I just read a post on one of my favorite blogs...Ragamuffin Soul...and Carlos listed out his 10 favorite websites to go to for creativity. Being creatively challenged this morning...I took his idea...but I only have half the time... so here are my favorite 5 spots to get my brain going...
I'm going to warn you - these are random and may seem odd. It's just the way that my brain works...
1) Daily Dose of Imagery - http://wvs.topleftpixel.com/ - Each day there is a new photograph of something going on. Sometimes people in it....usually not...just a random image. I enjoy looking at creative photography. Have you ever wanted to visit a place in a photograph? These pictures will make you want to.
2) Crave - http://crave.cnet.com/ - This is a CNET blog dedicated to the latest and greatest in the gadget world. It helps me creatively think outside the box. I read about these gadgets and wonder what inspired the creator and what need the item fulfills. That...and it is filled with a bunch of eye candy that I sometimes covet. Just keepin' it realz.
3) Swerve - http://swerve.lifechurch.tv/ - A blog by Bobby Greunewald and Craig Groeschel at Lifechurch.tv. It talks about leadership, technology, and innovation. I find myself reading it and smacking myself in the forehead with the "Why didn't I think of that?" routine. Essential reading. These guys are out on the bleeding edge and I applaud them for it.
4) Distant Creations Blog - http://www.distantcreations.com/blog/ - A blog about Disney, Orlando, Apple Computers, and the like. Basically, if you could look into the "Fun" file in my mental rolodex you would find the contents of this blog. Great reading and updated often. I like to read it when I get stuck mentally. It's like liquid drano for brain clogs.
5) Ragamuffin Soul - www.ragamuffinsoul.com - This is written by the Creative Production Leader at Northpoint's Buckhead Church Campus in Atlanta. He has been on LA INK getting a full arm tattoo, has blogged about his recent vasectomy, and has been known to give the finger (ashamedly) to people. I read his blog and it instantly gives me permission to be myself. Sometimes I wonder if I'm creating a spin on my own image through this blog...I don't mean to..I just wonder if I'm giving you a picture of who I'd like to be rather than who I usually am...I want to be transparent and Los' blog helps me to see the merit in that.
Those are the first 5....if you'd like more...please let me know. I have been blessed with a brain that thinks differently and I want to keep it lubricated with the best stuff on the web. What are some of your favorite spots creatively? Let's trade!
