The Pumpkin Patch

Greetings Faithful Readers...

She won't always carry that little polar bear around with her.

She won't always be so excited to go get a pumpkin from the pumpkin patch.

She won't be 9 forever.

I am going to enjoy every second I can.

Sometimes you just have to slow down...soak in life...

Enjoy who God has allowed you to spend it with.

I love my family.

Ojo

Greetings Faithful Readers..

What color is my eye?

Seriously, I've always wondered. I've always been told it's one color...but today was told it is another color entirely.

Thoughts?

The Joys of Halloween

Greetings Faithful Readers...

I just want to give you a glimpse of what an Internet Campus Pastor does in Target when he has time to kill in the Halloween section. Do you have a favorite? Can you guess who the white-haired guy is?

Mindy said it was gross to put on masks that others had obviously worn... thoughts?

My iTank

Greetings Faithful Readers...

Just wanted to show you a couple pictures of my little corner of the ocean. If you are new to Vasilating... I am an aquarist... er...somebody who raises marine life in my living room. I have been doing it for over 3 years now...and love it. Yes, it is a lot of work...but when all the lights are off and my iPod is on...the chill-out factor is well worth it. I have live corals, snails, emerald crabs, shrimp, starfish (sand-sifting and serpent star), hermit crabs, and a few fish (false-percula clown, bar goby, and possum wrasse). Enjoy the pics!

One More Tribute

GFR,

I want to personally thank Pastor Arturo De La Mora for keeping the iPastor/Pee Wee Herman thing alive on his last post...

In return, please enjoy this photo tribute to Heredes.

Thanks to Heredes for being a good sport.com

You are still the coolest guy named Heredes on staff (crazy, right?)

I've been hit...

Greetings Faithful Readers....

Yours truly has been victimized.  Check out Arnold Gonzalez's last post... Personally I don't see the resemblance.

Very funny, A.G.

I finally found it!

Greetings Faithful Readers...

It has taken me a long time but my search is now complete.  As soon as I posted my first image of Heredes, requests poured in saying "That photo is great...but don't you have any photos of Heredes as a baby?"

I don't ever want to disappoint my readers so I flew to Brazil and searched through countless boxes of Ribeiro family pictures.  At the bottom of the last box, I unearthed a treasure.  I would like to present to you this baby photo of little Heredes.  Awwwww...

Gotta Love Mii

Greetings Faithful Readers...

My family has invaded my man-cave. It's true. You see, that's where the Nintendo Wii is kept...in my inner sanctum...my happy place if you will. The Man-Cave. You could call it my study if you wanted to...

Anyway, I brought home Mario Kart Racing for the Wii and now Brianna and Mindy are playing against each other all the time...(Brianna usually wins :-) What am I doing now that the batcave has been compromised...
working on perfecting my Mii character. What do you think...is it Mii (er...Me?)

Mmmm...brains...

Greetings Faithful Readers,

I have read pretty much every book written about Steve Jobs. Pastor Troy recommended this one...it's the newest...and is written by the same guy who wrote one of my other favorite mac-related books "The Cult of Mac"

I just started it and hope to have a review up soon...

It is supposed to be part biography and part leadership study.

You know, if somebody wrote a book about me...it would at least have a clever title..."Inside Brian's Brain"

(a piece of trivia...that was almost the name of this blog...)

Day Three in the Desert

Greetings Faithful Reader...

I have been asked why I didn't post a video each day bringing you along on my journey....basically it's the old "What happens in Vegas...stays in Vegas."  No.  Not really.  I actually shot a bunch of video and hope to post some of it soon.

The trip has been great so far.  I've learned lots!  Here are some of the companies I've met with over the last 3 days:  Microsoft, Flip4Mac, Adobe, Sony, Lynda.com, Western Digital, Newtek, Apple (FCPUG meeting), Topaz Labs, Killer Tracks, Arri, Kino-Flo, and Lowell.  That's to name a few...a great week of contacts and tech talk.

I'd like to take just a second and make a list of 10 things I've experienced while here in Las Vegas.

1)  They had 2 live lions in a holding area at the MGM Grand hotel.  The male came within 3 feet of me at the glass.  That was the coolest thing I've seen in a long time. (see photo)
2)  The Casino in our hotel smells like armpit.  No lie.  Stale from smoke and the sweat of gamblers giving up their nest eggs.
3)  All hotel buffets have egg rolls and bread pudding.  Guaranteed.
4)  Caesar's Palace has a full mall inside the lobby of it.  I felt very Roman there... (see photo)
5)  I found a machine that paid homage to our own Pastor Troy.... (see photo)
6)  Magician Lance Burton is performing in our hotel.  We were making fun of him in the lobby and were afraid he was going to magically appear in front of us like The Count on Sesame Street and ask us to stop.
7)   I geeked out at the "Star Trek Experience" at the Hilton.  I had my picture taken with this character "The Gorn" (see photo).  The geeky part was that I knew what he was called before going up to get my picture taken with him.
8 )   The Bellagio is still my favorite hotel on the Strip.
9)   Video editors do not make good MC's for a Final Cut Pro User's Group meeting.  It's kinda hard to find that gentle yet pathetic blend of Chuck Woolery and "Booger" from Revenge of the Nerds.
10)   I can rock a skully. (see photo)  I'm not going to lie...

That's it so far...I'm sure more will shake out in the next couple of posts.  Thanks for reading!

Here it is

Greetings Faithful Readers,

If you joined us last night for "The Bed" (and you should have...) we had a little spontaneous imitation game at the end.  You see, Pastor Troy said at the beginning of his question and answer time that he noticed that I liked to do imitations (see last post).  He said that we were having a contest...at the end of the Q+A.  we would go back live to the studio and try to guess who it was that I was imitating.  Contrary to popular belief, I had no idea that this was going to happen.  In fact, in the archive, you hear Troy say that they just "came up with" the contest.  I really had no choice but to pick Pastor Troy.  I had to choose someone who everybody knew (staff and non-staff).  Here is the photo.  Remember I had 20 minutes to put this together...

I called Troy immediately after to check to see that I was still a staff member of Flamingo Road Church.

So far, so good.

The Sincerest Form of Flattery

Greetings Faithful Readers...

Found this cool hat today at Target. Of course, I had to take my picture in it. Naturally, I had to do my best impression of the one man who makes these hats look cool....Heredes. What do you think? Pretty close to Heredes?

photo.jpg

Is it just me or does he always look surprised to be in his own photos.

Love ya Heredes...

PS: Chin beard and sideburns complements of Photoshop
